The purpose of a mission trip to
Kenya is to partner with our friends Pastor Francis and Pastor Kefa who
run Shangilia Orphanage. God has been blessings this ministry
partnership for the past 4 years.
We will have the opportunity to put their faith in action as they build
meaningful relationships with the children of Shangilia Orphanage and
the community of Luciola. We will be doing a lot of listening prayer as
we seek the Lord daily for who he would want us to minister to and where
he wants us to minister. We will also have the opportunity to share the
good news of Jesus Christ in three different schools, show the Jesus
film to thousands of people as an outreach, pray for individuals, meet
individual needs, and impact a whole community for Jesus Christ. As we
allow God to speak to us and lead us, we will see God transform our
lives and the lives of the beautiful people of Kenya.
This trip will be an opportunity for us to encounter ourselves, others,
and God in a challenging and impacting way through the power of the Holy
Spirit. This mission trip to Kenya, Africa is designed for students who
are ready to take the next step in their relationship with Jesus Christ
and allow God to use their gifts and abilities to impact the people of
Kenya as they live out their faith. The trip consists of 14 days of
ministry, travel and a safari. We will be challenged daily to share
their faith and how Jesus has made a difference in their lives. We will
also be engaged in building meaningful relationships with kids at
Shangilia Orphanage, the public schools and the community. We will also
be doing a lot of listening prayer, as we seek daily who the Lord would
have them minister to. We will have the opportunity to do listening
prayer, evangelism, evangelistic Vacation Bible Schools for kids, sports
outreach, caring for kids at Shangilia orphanage, and some small work
projects. This trip will be challenging and life changing.
We believe that mission trips help produce significant life change in us
by putting our faith into action as we experience missions first hand
through cross-cultural experiences outside of our normal, comfortable
surroundings. As we engage in the Kenyan/African culture we have the
opportunity to really impact this part of the world for Jesus Christ.

About Kenya and where we will minister:
Located on the eastern coast of Africa, Kenya is a land of wildlife
reserves and safaris. We will be
ministering and partnering with Pastor Francis and the ministries he is
involved with. Since the war that took place the first part of 2008, the
people are desperate for the hope that only comes through Christ. We
have the opportunity to share the Love of Christ with our Kenyan
friends.
The City Kisumu (Lusiola)
We will be working with Pastor Francis and Pastor Kefa in a small
village called Lusiola which is near Kisumu which is located on Lake
Victoria. This area is filled with lush vegetation, and beautiful
valleys.
